Read the it the right way round first, then rotate it one way and carry on - if it doesn't make any sense try it the other way!

You can skip a lot of numbers due to simple logic. For example, when you get to 23, reversed it's 32, which is already much greater than 23, let alone doubling itt etc. Same with 20-anything greater than 22, in fact, so that's 8 numbers skipped right there.

Lex is absolutely right on this.

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

If the two digits are the same reversing them then doubling up will have exactly the same effect as doubling the original number. Therefore, the solution can only be found in a number in which the first digit is higher than the second.

And if you're still struggling...

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

follow the following pattern:
10
20
21
30
31
32
40
etc.
You'll soon find the correct result.

Not only that, but also:

the first digit needs to be *about* two times the second digit. A bit of trial and error should see you right.

p.s. cute baby Caprakan!

Thanks. His name is Sebastian and he is just short of 10 months old.

I intend to recruit him to help some of the cards I get stuck on, but I think I'll wait a couple more months first!!

The way to finding the question is laid out below.

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

Look at the letters and you will see that they are different ways up. If you write down all the letters, left-to-right, top-to-bottom, that are the right way up, you will see something emerge. Next, turn the card so that another set of letters is up the right way and do the same. Continue until all the letters have been used. Ignore the blank spaces in the grid. Once you have done this, put the lines of text you have written into the correct order and you will have the question.

Hope this helps.

Heres a bit of work I did on the second part of the puzzle that might help

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

where your 2 digit number is xy
the parameters set out in the puzzle can be represented by the following equation

10x + y = 2x + 20y - 1

you can break this down further to get equations which will give you a value for x or y given the other digit.

put the numbers 1 to 9 into the equation and which ever number gives you an integer answer fits the pattern. All you need to do then is pick the lowest one.

Good Luck

At the bottom of this card, there are hexagons with codes in them, e.g., 99FF00. I know that these are the RGB hex codes for the colors shown. But what does this have to do with the puzzle?
