Wow... I got the answer within about five minutes of seeing this card. I didn't even realise it was the answer until just now... Maybe someone should try variations of FIVECOWS again with The Thirteenth Labour... just in case

And the relevance of the title was posted before in this thread, but MD1500 edited it out of his first post.

Well spotted. The cards had only just come out back then, and I thought it was too soon to reveal it.

I was thinking about this the other day, in wave 4 there was that rather simple red card with lots of cows and one sheep, the answer obviously being sheep, lol. That card was called cow cow cow cow cow, which is five cows. Coincidence?

Well, this is the first chance I've had for a while to solve any cards, and I've got to say, having now solved this card, it is a bit of a let down for a silver. May be I'm just mad at being so stupid.

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

I had previously become convinced that the tiny triangle piece that doesn't have an image in it was part of the solution, and was in some way connected to the symbol...Doh!

I suppose if you dont know your symbols then this card would be slightly harder, but i cant see how from the rest of the image you can get to the answer.

I think it is all just a red herring, don't you. Maybe that is the point. Referring back to a certain red card, 'Sheep' was my first guess, oh how I wish I'd not overworked this one lol.

This was way too straightforward for a silver. I only entered the correct solution in desperation because I couldn't see what the next stage was!

Still, it was nice to solve a silver within 24 hours of opening the packet.

The other images in the cards: spot, pots, post, etc. were supposed to point you to anagram the title. I think if you truly had to construct a hexagon from just the shapes it would be very difficult. I just matched up the edges of the symbol fragments to form the symbol. I didn't recognize it right away, but used symbol.com (which I discovered while solving S2W1 "Quintessential")

But i fail to see why you need to construct the hexagon, the symbol itself is too easy to see by just looking at the card. Also to get to the hexagon using the pieces is easy too. Solving the puzzle the way we were supposed to (if that is the simple way) is even more difficult than doing it by sight since the title anagram itself is quite difficult.

I just have to say: Are you frickin kidding me!?!

This ended up being really hard for me because I didn't consider the obvious answer, because it was way too obvious for a silver.

I think it's a good card, but

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

maybe if a more complicated symbol or jigsaw was used, that would have helped. I guess that would have been hard to show the original anagram images, though.

I got the answer quite awhile ago, but the solve site doesn't seem to be accepting it (if I'm somehow entering it 'wrong' I'm going to kick myself...again).

I've just checked this with a "dummy" account, and it accepted my answer without any problems. In the first instance, you probably want to retry it.

I noticed that you're having problems with S1 solves too. I'm not in a position to check those at the moment, but assuming your answer for this card is correct (and still not working), perhaps you're having browser issues?
(FWIW, I'm using IE7.)

Huh. Right now I'm using Firefox 3.0.6 and haven't had problems with card solves until very recently (although the DP doesn't work at all).

The version I have on my flash drive (3.0.5) does work with the DP, so I'll try that with the solve site. I can't seem to suss out exactly what is causing the problems other than the general browser update as both versions have the same plugins pretty much.

ETA: Even IE6 doesn't work. This card is the only one from S2W2 that I've tried and had issue with recently...there aren't many ways the answer can be entered and both fail.
