Here's a suggestion.

Next time don't release the site if it doesn't work correctly. It is absolutely unbelievable that drop down card solves do not work in IE (I'm using ie6 not 7 which other people have problems with) - did you not test browser compatability?!

The whole launch was a farce, first March 1st, then March 2nd at 5pm, then nothing til about 6pm then up and down like a yo-yo for the rest of the night. I'm sure most people would have preferred to wait a few more days to have a more stable site in the first place.

I'm not very happy

Disregard my "suggestion" I was in a bad mood. Everything's going much better now. It'll be great to see the site with lots of season 1 features back (mainly full leaderboard, position in your profile and solves shown against cards)

I'm loving MindCandy much more at the mo. And no, that's not just because I'm on my second botlle of wine

EDIT: Although that is why I can't spell bottle

Is your "Level Color" going to be displayed on your profile or, like Season 1, a colored border on your avatar? Some of us are easily pleased (me! me!) and cheap (free) rewards are encouraging, like the badge idea someone mentioned and some way of showing your rank and/or color level.

I'd like the default page when you select 'Cards Solved' in your profile to be Season 2 instead of Season 1. Either that or the ability to select either from your profile.

This is really bugging me - and I apologise in advance for moaning but as a fan of S1 I have to say it.

If there are no leaderboard stats, no first solves, no leitmarks and no double points for sets... why should I keep buying cards?

The puzzle cards are beautiful and collectible, but without at least some of the above game elements I think trying to collect them all becomes a far more considered purchase.(and what's with those warm-up cards?)

MC, please confirm exactly which elements will be returning and when. I understand that the website is still regretably in it's teething stage - but cards have been purchased and shipped and your players want to play the game. Well, this one does, still, I think.......

Just to give everyone a heads up : we're going to start very soon (possibly this week-end) a sticky specifically dedicated to listing your suggestions, those that are being taken care of, and those that can't be granted for technical or practical reasons. So don't think we're not doing anything behind the scenes - your input's being collected, and Mind Candy's still at work to make it all happen !

Again, I'd like to point that if the leaderboard doesn't appear on the site right now points and ranks in the leaderboard are still being awarded. It's just a matter of putting the data up for all to see.

Cheers !

As another fan of S1, I remember that when the first wave of cards came out, we had to wait another few months before we could even solve the cards 'officially'. We still had fun talking about them and solving them together and collecting them while we waited - the leaderboard and the first solves aren't everything. If they were, why would Mind Candy have so many free puzzles up on the site, that don't even get you points? Because they're fun? Again with the warm-up cards - they might not get you points but they introduce you to new types of puzzles, and they are free, and they mean that the backs of the normal cards can have nice stuff put on them rather than the red and yellows having to have the game info on them like last time.
I'm not from Mind Candy but I am pretty sure they will be working on the leaderboard and points and things, but in the mean time, why not just have some fun and enjoy solving the puzzles, reading the stories on the backs, and talking to us lot?

I think that the points are too much for each card, I like the way it was set up last season. Alsmost all the leaderboard is about triple last seasons high.

I also want to view my score for season one, because I have some season 1 cards and I know I'm close to a red lietmark(I'm new here.)but I can't see just hwo close.

Just a Question, since I don't have any season 2 cards yet do you still get bonus points for getting sets?

Don't worry - as it's been often stated before, S1 and S2 leaderboards are still functioning. They'll be back up for us to see soon-ish.

Not anymore ! The cards are all you get (which might be on of the reasons why they give you so many points now).

In the same way a piece of a the Map appeared in S1 when you solved a card, I'd like the same thing to happen with the information on the card backs this time around...

For example, "You have X more cards to solve before you complete the Crimes of Fashion series."

That would be a great way for players to easily keep track of all the backstories, without risking damage to the precious cards by over-handling them...

I'm really liking the game so far. Keep up the good work!

My S2W2 solves

[UPDATED 23/12] Needs: (S1) Gold card 257. / (S2W2) 243 244.
Trading: (S2W2) 239. All Red-Black. / (S2W1) Hamleys set. Key. / (S1) 235 241.

How about something to differentiate between hints and spoilers in the forums. Sometimes I get a bit stuck and read what people have written hoping for a gentle nudge in the right direction only for a sledgehammer blow of an answer in the spoiler box.... I'd suggest spoiler and hint....

At the moment, all we can ask is that people simply say before the spoiler if it's a hint or the answer. Mind Candy have been asked about this and they have too much work at the moment to set up a separate tag for hints.

Ask me about Perplexbar

I agree whole heartedly with all those who want the old style solve page and leaderboards back. it was so much fun to see yourself whizzing up and down the leaderboards and figuring how many points and which cards would get you into the next 10, 100 etc.

BRING IT BACK PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!

Pretty please

Thanks for your reply - you make a lot of sense - I wasn't around at the beginning so missed the lag at the start of S1 - everything was working smoothly when I started playing, and any info about Leitmarks, points, card stats etc. was readily available on the web pages.
As for the warm up cards- You make a good point about the card reverses, but I still feel unsure that they are worthy of being sent out as bonus cards, given that the type of puzzles I have received are readily available for free on the site. I think a platinum mega/meta puzzle would have been a more interesting addition.

Anyway, I'll take your advice and enjoy the puzzles on the site for a while and see what happens
