I think this puzzle might possibly be about sphere packing.
The terms Periodic and Aperiodic, come into play, also those colours are used in pictures of "Apollonian Packing" |

Regrettably I'm busy thinking up, and then dutifully not acting on, ideas for new puzzles for Croc and Chaos' project. And I don't have the card lol. Had a glance on the first page though, and I have to say, I'm glad I don't; it looks horrible to try and solve!
Not quite as bad as that godforsaken blue that I still have to solve though... xD |

I've got one or two bad blues left, too. 
I must say, for a newbie puzzle setter, this Finch has certainly given us a stumper. Maybe as challenging as Kurt's 13th Labour. |

Well there must be something definitive about the shape and the numbers, most of Finch's puzzles rely on historical facts in a "visual" way, like for example his american flag one | ||||

We were definitely making this puzzle harder than it is. After a little help from paul mccormick, i managed to solve the puzzle (with a little help from my alias fretty21, lol, i couldnt help it).
Spoiler: (highlight to read) All i will say first is what was told to me, the actual symbol formed by the shapes really doesnt mean much, it's the numbers and the letters that make the puzzle. Oh and read my post 5 posts above |

lmao, thanks, although i did have to resort to a hint or two. The entire puzzle makes sense when you know what to look for.
let me know when you want more hints. Thats 86/86 now, i'd better get cracking with the PXC project, lol. |

Spoiler: (highlight to read) All UFO/Smarties/Gemstone/Random ideas in this thread are completely in the wrong direction, the subject of this puzzle is something much easier (although i suppose UFO's could be a very indirect clue to what to concentrate on). just think about who "they" might be |
