Oh my. Any good ideas on where to start here? Would a photo copy make the darker dots stand out more and the lighter dots fade into the background a little?

Well first stop I guess is Wikipedia to see the braille alphabet posted there. Then just convert the grid to letters and do it like a regular wordsearch.

Conversion to letters doesn't seem like a good idea. One braille letter is a 2x3 grid of dots - and as you can see from the examples, you might not always line the grid up the same way when finding your letters.

HAHAHAHA, you can't convert to letters, the very first 2x3 box, for example, is all 6 dots filled. not a word.

also, letters would severly overlap.
currently unsolveable, as i'm 1000% sure i've solved this card, but it will not take my answer (drop box)

Got this card this morning
This one may get frustrating, hehe. Suppose you could draw out the letters for all the 2x3 grids, but then this might get just as confusing!
Might make a small piece of card that has a 2x3 slot to view through, then move it along until I find the rarest letter for each word and then work from there around the letter to see if anything fits ...

Only got 3 to go. But only one try left or I'll have to wait 24 hours. I can't find any of the 3 so I may have to guess and hope I don't have to wait.

Ended up guessing... got it wrong, but at least I now know what the answer must be, just a day to wait.

Did you do it by searching for letters and then checking the surrounding 2x3 areas to find more? - a bit like John Raven is suggesting..

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

I've just scanned it into photoshop, made a translation key and hopefully i'll just be able to copy and paste to make the words and then search for the pattern in the grid

I worked the puzzle very similarly to Whiternoise -

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

I scanned in the card, and then used Paintshop to help - a little floating 2x6 box can work wonders to separate the individual braille letters! It took a few hours, but I had fun. I also love how well the solution related to the card - when I was about halfway done, I was able to intuit the answer.

Couple of questions - are all the words vertical/horizontal - i'm guessing so, it would be imnmensely cruel to have diagonals - and it's nice to know the answer is intuitive.. that would lead me toward red/green type colours, but i can't be bothered to risk it

I've actually solved this but can't enter the answer as it is one of the drop down boxes that don't seem to be working.

Helpful hint (or not so?) for those still stuck.

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

as to how to solve the card: I did a good old fashioned google search for braille alphabet, printed it out and spent many hours scanning the boxes.

Yes, Whiternoise, no diagonals
