doublecross wrote: Thanks to volvox, we know that trk has fewer than 1000 puzzles to solve (although they are probably most, if not all, insoluble). I went through them this weekend, most of the ones I have left are "unsolvable" moshi monsters puzzles (in the range 19209 to 23460). The others are a few of the early puzzles (in the 500's and 600's) that are unsolvable because they either don't have any entry fields, have the wrong entry fields or in the case of Tri*ominoes won't accept the right answer. Oh! I have just "solved" tri*ominoes or at least with a little deductive reasoning (game of mastermind anyone) worked out what answer it would accept. The "correct" answer certainly isn't. So if people send me a private message with their solution, if it's right solution I'll reply with the answer that will be accepted. Can't say fairer than that!
TRK, making the unsolvable, solvable. Hmmm... maybe the technique will work on some of the others. Edit: I've also got 4 out of the 6 artists for Sixfaces, not bad considering there's no picture. |

So Triominoes is unsolvable? G'ah I spent far too long on that one. I can't even pm you with my answer straight away as I threw all my workings away. Double G'ah!

New leaderboard up. Addicts of the week: What_ and AndyAndyO. Riser of the week: jim_kirby.
Incidentally, since this board was published, AndyAndyO is now 114 points ahead of trk, but AAO has only solved 18 more cards that trk, who thought he was maxed out on points. How come? |

It looks like trk was mistaken about the number of Moshi Monster puzzles that are solvable. I'm still plodding my way through them steadily (a bit like tortoise and hare - slow and steady wins the race!) BTW, this thread is the only reason why I or anyone else would ever want to plod their way through so many unsolvable puzzles! So there's still hope for others to leap up this leaderboard if they stick at it. |

I believe I have exhausted all the MM puzzles. I may have the odd Slamboozle ones to complete and a couple of others I haven't solved yet.
Some sections of the MM puzzles appear to ALL be solvable, which might account for trk's missing quite a few in his rush-job. (Don't ask me which types of puzzles they were - just make sure you're very thorough when you go through them!) |

Either I can't count or I changed the wrong digit when I was going through the MM puzzles. I've, so far, found that I missed some of the LetterSlices puzzles. I'm hunting for the other ones I missed now... Edit: Yup, it's just the LetterSlices that are all solvable. They're the only MM puzzles that actually give you a choice of answer. Right, I'm pretty sure that I'm maxed out now. |

Did you two solve the Slamboozles just by trying repeatedly and hoping you got the ones you needed, or did you have another method to hit all of them?

Some of them you can do by going to the perma puzzle link for the puzzle. As long as the first answer is correct it will let you have it (no matter which answer you actually pick). The rest you'll have to do by playing Slamboozle. |

Hi I'm trying to find out how to contact MC, as I would like to clarify certain details of a card.
Specifically I want to know some details of #226 'The Great Bomb chase' from Season 2. I found a couple of e-mail addresses but I've had no reply, and the majoity of perplexcity forums look to have been dead for a while - the post above this is the 1st one in quite a while. So... If you know a way to contact MC, or any of the puzzle setters, or if you know of a site where MC posted card clarifications, etc. Please e-mail me - I might not notice a reply on a forum. Here's my e-mail address **I've reversed the 1st 2 letters to try and fool any spam bots and the stars are there to highlight it- NB. it really is an 'x' in the middle** **ts**ixmclean@aol.com So.. remove the stars reverse the letters, and give me a shout. Thanks. yours Brondahl. |

Brondahl, I know you said you might not read this, but do you really need to make 7 posts in completely random places, asking a pretty specific question about one card? Heck, you haven't even posted in the correct thread for the card you want info on! According to your profile, you haven't solved any cards. To be honest, I can't make up my if you're spam or not. If you read this, please give me a PM to clarify some things. Thanks.
(Sorry for sorta hijacking the thread guys. Back to the leaderboard!) |
