Now this is the kind of puzzle that wraps me up in it. I can't stop thinking about it. So, LET THE DISCUSSION BEGIN.
(on a side note: why are there other forums out there to discuss these cards when MindCandy is providing one for us now? I don't like having to watch two different forums.)

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

Brainstorming everything that comes to mind:
-Naval ships come to mind (island, fathom=6feet, and British ships apollo, cassandra, daedalus, but no Brian and no connection to trees)
-alphabetic naming system: A, B, C, D, so these probably aren't really the names
-Brian sticks out terribly
-omega+1, what is omega? 800? "the last?" "the end?" the first transfinite ordinal number+1?
-with the alphabetical naming and the measure of their "tallness," I think of tropical storms and hurricanes. The greek letters follow when the english alphabet runs out, but that is rare and never has reached even close to omega. Additionaly, omega+1 would indicate the first letter of whatever alphabet comes next (which there is none). Doubleplusmore, storm naming alternates in gender so Apollo to Brian doesn't fit.
-The tree idea and omega make me think of computer science search trees, and the height almost makes sense in light of branch depth until we get to a 1.5 feet.
-The named children are possible iterations or generations of some design. Like this is the alpha model, beta model... so maybe the children never "grew," Apollo started out at 6 feet, Brian started out at 3 feet, Cassandra at 2 feet, and Daedalus hit a landmark-worthy-of-celebration 18 inches.

So start spitting out your ideas people!

Right, this is a complicated one, and this isn't the best place for it, but might as well keep the reply where the post is...

The Unfiction forums were there well before the Perplex City Forums were released. At the time, the PXC Forums were unmoderated, and rather chaotic, which put many people off, thus meaning that the Unfiction forums were left as they were.

Recently, and I'm sure many of you already know this, there was a slight disagreement within the Unfiction community and the Perplexorum split off, creating another community.

Shortly after this, the forums you see before you were created, with moderators and all. However, with the other two being well-established and having a tight community, people are still reluctant to abandon them.

Another thing is that the other forums are also for discussion of the ARG, and it helps keep everything in one place. If you don't want to read the others, then don't bother, you won't be missing out on anything card related (as far as I know).

PS: I understand you have already been PM'd by another lovely member of our mod team. He made a tiny mistake in that PM, and this could be seen as more accurate.

Apologies for this deviation from the topic, but I felt it should be said, let's get back to business!

Woot! I don't know that I'm a first solve, but I'm the first solve to post here. There are a couple of things worth knowing:
1) There's an error on the card; Cassandra is actually born on day w (omega), not day w+1. This is nitpickery, but it's vaguely relevant.

2) (spoilertagged):

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

The puzzle is (obscurely) mathematical in nature; there's a huge, huge clue in the first paragraph as to the specific mathematics. And it's not actually the 'Subconscious Visions' line.

Big clue:

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

You may think the birthday determines the height. This is not so.

Follow-up big clue:

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

The height determines the birthday.

Hi everyone, ive just got this card, and am I being dense or is there just a simple relation between height and birthday, i.e.

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

birthday = 6/height, making daedalus born on day 4?

still no idea about the father though, maybe jeremy kyle can help!!

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

I'm thinking Darwin

Sadly it is not as simple as that. I didn't get this until I got what the first paragraph was referencing, which still seems dubious to me.

If the PXC stuff is still up on unFiction, I think the reference is spelled out there. If not, PM for a hint.

I've mentioned this on another thread, but for those interested:
Unfiction archived the PXC ARG pages, but the Card pages are still active under "Diversions".

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the policy on Unfiction is not to delete anything unless it's unavoidable...

Ooh, I liked this one!

Hugely gratifying as a solve (for me at least), and well worth the hours poring over a certain Wikipedia page...
