This is my last sub blue card and i'm really struggling with it. I assume each painting is a genuine artwork and finding the names and artists will aid my solve?

Unfortuntately that's where i fall down, i recognise only one (the most obvious one!), and despite my best googling efforts i have been unable to trace the others.

Is Gwen the name of the lady in the red dress? Am i being asked to name the year this painting was painted? Is 'Lost In Time' relevant? So many questions.......

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

he he, the only important painting here is the big one, and yes gwen is the lady in the red dress. If you can find that painting then you will have the answer, you just need the year of the event

And you don't really need to do much. Look at the picture and think of a time. It is more straightforward than it might appear.

I must be over analysing this one because i still haven't solved it!!

Still unable to put a name or an artist to the painting.

Ravenstorm, i'm looking at the picture and i'm thinking late 19th, maybe early 20th century (though this could be way off). I'm randomly guessing years around that era at the moment and constantly locking myself out, which isn't really the way i want to solve it.

Some more gentle nudges in the right direction would be appreciated

You need to be thinking a little earlier. As Ravenstorm says;

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

look closely at the painting, it is depicting a very famous scene. What are the people in it doing?

Failing that, try to enter all those historically important dates. One of them WILL work.

A google image search with some well chosen keywords is what did it for me. (Too bad that's not working for "Illuminating").

It seems no-one else is having trouble with this card, but i certainly am!! I will spoiler all of this, but i don't know if it's of any relevance!

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

I took the 'tea' comment as being a clue. It lead me down some interesting side streets, one resulted in me reading about Syphilis. I'm sure that wasn't the intended path! I also know more about Tea Leoni and Gwen Stefani than i'd ever care to.

What is the picture depicting? Here's my take on it. My first thought was that it's taking place in a courtroom, the wigs and scattered paper suggested that. She is the only woman in the room, and all eyes are on her. Is she perhaps on trial?

The 'figure' with two trumpets for a head in the background seems to be of Christian significance, which suggests this may be taking place in a church. A marriage maybe?

Or am i way off the mark again? I've virtually convinced myself this is the 17th century now, and have tried some relevant dates from that era to no avail

Sorry for making such a mess of this card!

Hint 1:

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

The painting is a famous painting with Gwen inserted into it. You will be able to find it with Google image search if you can enter the right search parameters.

Hint 2:

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

The painting depicts a famous historical event. It is not a wedding, nor is it a court hearing.

Hint 3:

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

A major historical event, involving tea, leads to this particular historical event.

That'll do for now.
