I selected what I though to be the answer - told I was incorrect. Fair enough I thought, so I used all three '24 hour' chances to get the card right, but all three options say incorect!!!! What's going on MC? I'd love to know what the right answer is!

Well good sir, either you're very wrong, or you might be a victim of the site's having trouble with certain solves right now ! If you're using Internet Explorer and the solve form has drop-down boxes, the only way to claim your points would be to switch to Firefox for now, it appears.

As for any other trouble you might have with the site, I'd suggest you head for the Bug Reports Thread and see if it's been mentioned here already :)

Re: #104 - The Pickle King (green dice)

I solved this one a while ago but here was my reasoning:

Spoiler: (highlight to read)

Since all of the jars are labeled wrong the one that says Mixed has either all Sweet or all Regular. After you taste a pickle from it you will know which one, let's say it was Regular. So now you know the jar labeled Mixed has Regular pickles and you have 2 jars left one labeled Sweet and the other labeled Regular. The one labeled Sweet has to contain either Regular pickles or Mixed pickles (otherwise the label would be correct). It can't be Regular (since that was in the jar labeled Mixed) so it has to be Mixed. Thus, the last jar which is labeled Regular has to contain Sweet pickles, the ones you want. Alternatively, if the pickle you tasted was Sweet in the Mixed jar you would know right away that that was the jar with Sweet pickles in it.

So by tasting one pickle from the jar labeled Mixed pickles, you will know which jar contains the Sweet pickles.

To further emphasize this, imagine tasting ONE pickle from the Regular jar. If you tasted a Regular pickle you would know it was the Mixed jar, but if you tasted a Sweet pickle it could be either the Sweet jar OR the Mixed jar. There's no way to tell for sure without tasting more pickles and the same scenario applies to the Sweet jar.

Hope that helps, the key is to remember that all the jars are mislabeled. I thought this card was fun but too easy for a green.

Yeah, Mykl is right. It's like the whole riddle about if there are two roads and you don't know which one to take and you meet two others who know the way, one who always lies and one who always tells the truth, what do you ask and to whom?

Or it could be completely different and I'm just confusing you. Whichever, lol!
