The Free Card Codes Thread

Welcome to the Free Card Codes thread.
All you need to do is copy and paste...and know the answer, of course.

This is the place to find free codes for PXC puzzle cards :D, or if you feel generous, to leave free (valid) codes for others to use :D :D.

If you wish to leave a code :D, please post the details (card number, name and code), and we will add your code to the list in this post. If we already have multiple copies of your code then save it for a later day, or PM it to me.

If you use a code to get a solve, please, please post below to let us know that it is now invalid (remember to include the card number, name and code). We can then edit the list to remove invalid codes.

If you find that a code doesn't work, please bring it to our attention by posting in this thread. This will make it so much easier to keep the list current and get around the problem of 'lurkers' swiping codes and not letting us know.

I hope to put more codes up as we go along, and I hope others will contribute too. But I guess silver codes will be few and far between. Unless the card is Polar or for that matter Riemann, I don't think there's any worries of that code becoming void through use.

Is any one daring (or daft) enough to post their Riemann code???

Hi Mastercheese, a good suggestion.

In my opinion, if the access to card codes were mediated through PMs etc, I think the accident and excitement of coming across something for nothing would be lost.

So to reiterate, as it says these codes are available on a first come first solved basis. If the code has been used, then I'm sorry you were unlucky, and the lucky beneficiary has neglected to tell us, or you have just been pipped at the post, no harm done... please PM me and let me know the invalid code and then I will update the list. :D Please do not complain!!!

I have now erased the used codes that I know of, and will continue to do so.

Suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks so much for posting these!
I'd been wanting to see these card puzzles but they're not available here.

I think people have used them without posting, though I like this system as it is.

Thanks again!

I didn't believe that these codes would be snapped up as fast as that. There are only 2 codes left from the original list of 20, and they are locked out for 24 hours.

Thanks for all the wonderful PMs over-night, my apologies to anyone who missed out, hopefully other people will post free codes in this thread.

Not only that, but it's moderated in part by the younger lot (I'm 15), so we're very age-neutral.

Thanks for letting us know.

I like the idea that people who have used a code are prepared to post a code. Give and take is what it is all about.

I'm hoping to post a few more codes myself shortly. Maybe tomorrow.

If you are using a code;
All you need is the 12 digit code itself. Usually you can simply cut a paste it from this thread.

If you are leaving a code;
It would be best to leave the card number, name and the 12 digit code.

so in this case it would be;

#009 Tapestry
4HGU3RNKXDE8

Of course this code has already been used.
As have many of the most recently posted. Keep 'em coming.

Wow, What a weekend.

Many thanks Mastercheese for tidying up the first post, I have just removed more used codes, and will be adding a few more shortly.

Also thanks for the sticky. :D I hope people will continue to generously donate spare codes so that this thread remains worthy of a sticky.

Thanks also to byrnedfish for keeping us updated on which cards you have used. It makes tidying the first post much easier. Hope you enjoyed your introduction to Perplex City, and will be here to stay.

Like team cerebra, I'm very pleased that people have been using these codes and are getting a taste for Perplexcity, I also hope they will buy card packs and post their spare codes on this thread. A bit of give and take is all I ask.

I've updated the first post

Rotek, thanks for letting me know that the code for read between the lines has been used. Unfortunately some people can't be bothered to put in that extra bit of effort to post that they have used a code. Shame really.

Maybe we should change the policy, and ask people to post if they have tried to use a code that doesn't work, otherwise I have to sign in under another user name to check their validity. What do you think?

EDIT: further to the above, I've just entered all codes to see if they are valid, only the one for trailhead comes up as valid at the moment. With the problems the site has been having today, I'm reluctant to remove them all, what do you think?

It may just show the difficulty in keeping the list up to date.

Thanks for that. I thought as much...

I think it is time to reconsider how this works.
So, from now on, if you come across a code that doesn't work, please post details here, (once only per code please) so that we can remove it. That gets us passed the problem of lurkers swiping all the codes, and not telling us.

I will edit the first post to reflect the new approach, shortly (time for bed approaches).

Please keep suggestions coming.

AND PLEASE KEEP THOSE FREE CODES COMING... I know you have a stack of cards, that are just sitting there, what's stopping you from posting the codes, or PMing them to me to post? Are you really going to sell them all on ebay, or swap your reds for a silver???

This has already been suggested by Mastercheese, very early on.

The problem (in my opinion) with this method is the delay involved in sending out the PM requesting the code, then waiting for the reply, then waiting for the confirmation that the code has been used etc.

I think the success of this thread has been precisly because the codes have been immediately available, and anyone can have a go on a first come first solved basis.

The downside admittedly is that some people have used the codes and not let us know. But I think if people also tell us if they find a code that no longer works, then this will make things much easier all round.

Otherwise the suggestion you have made might have to be put in to practice. Shame.

I'd be interested in what other people think.

This is a puzzle for a free Black code - 201 Sound Dialogue.

Sloth suggested I come up with some sort of challenge so here goes. Hopefully it will make some sort of sense - it does to me anyway. Solve the clues to find the answers.

To make it fair I'll only accept answers from this Monday. The winner will be the first one with all the correct answers on Monday 21st or the most correct answers by Friday 25th May 6.00pm.

SPORTING CHANCE

1. The pub landlord's prison room
2. Does the donkey go before or after the weight in Spanish houses?
3. Harry didn't fake it to lose and get angry.
4. Her farm, in part, was named with a Norse God.
5. Mother's holed out in four - in short.
6. Does this chicken make electricity with garlic and butter ?
7. Russians work out with farm animals on slippery standing stones.
8. If you clean the entrance with a weight does it follow it gives you sunburn?
9. French style, years before dancing animals.
10. Is South Africa's bowler too heavy to do well in track and field?

A clue - Some serious lateral thinking required (I hope).

Good luck!

Edited to correct spelling (oops) and alter clue 5

Other clue to be used if my thinking is that left field

Re: The Free Card Codes Thread

Since I like the idea of puzzles to earn free codes I’ve decided to make one myself for the chance to win the code to (S2) #196 Marble Loss

The following are all anagrams of football (soccer) stadiums in Europe. So that it’s not too difficult they are all home grounds of big football clubs (subject to opinion).

All you have to do is solve the anagrams to find the 8 stadium names and then pm your answers to me. The first entrant with all the correct answers will win the free card code or if no one gets them all then the entrant with the most correct answers by Saturday 2nd June 4.00pm will win the code.

Example: Loaned Lard – the answer would be Elland Road – the home stadium of Leeds United.

Here is the puzzle:

1 - bad fridge storm
2 - cup moan
3 - rain sos
4 - to insure a beanbag
5 - lead fin
6 - cricket pal
7 - ram renames data
8 - armies admit suet

NOTE: none of the anagrams include the word ‘the’

Hope you enjoy it and good luck
