I'm finding this business of not being able to do the puzzles for at least 24 hours between attempts very trying, as the routine has now worked its way to late at night and without missing out a day, I can't bring it back to civilised hours.
I've got to Level 4, but it took a lot of practice. I ended up buying a backwards clock from ebay to help wrap my brain around the puzzles. I think you have to get 12 right and 0 wrong to level up. I'm actually quite surprised at the puzzle difficulty for a "kids" game.

No more shops open, but the puzzles get harder. I actually find them more challenging than the daily puzzle here. I can't help wondering whether the target group will be able to cope, unless of course, they adjust the level of difficulty based on the age of the player?

Reading the instructions, it does suggest that an unhealthy monster can't level up. Maybe you actually reached Level 4 in the normal way previously, but the monster wouldn't recognise your achievement until it was fed?

Anyway, I've just got to Level 6 now!

dag-nabit! you got to level 6??!! rock on!
i started my monster on the 10th, so it's 5 days old today. I got it new deco's when it asked, and fed it alot. my first daily puzzle, i got 12r, 1w, and didn't level up. the next day, i got like 8 right, 3 wrong, and leveled up.

Started to notice that your daily puzzle is not timed like the daily puzzles on WLP, but rather like the PXC cards. you must wait 24 hours from when you did the last puzzles with uR monster. Finally noticed the "clovers" in the stores too. I've only seen one gold clover item (food) and i got it, but have not given it to my monster.
I have a zomber, and he has only physicaly shown me that he does not like fried jellybeans. anyone else know what their monster likes/dislikes to eat??!

anyone have any rare items too??!

Alrighty, it seems that my lack of a connection speed that can play Moshi Monsters will make it difficult, as my "visit once per week" schedule seems to be making my little Diavlo unhappy with me. Poor guy.

Still, I can normally get him perked up and happy again every time I visit providing that I end up with enough rocks. I fear I'll never leave level 1 at this rate, though.

my guy has been happy enought (i think) to lvl up each time. I think it goes by roxs (after happyness)
i got lvl 2 at about 100 rox, and lvl 3 at 250. it will still take me a few days to get to lvl 4 if it is at 500.
Also i read my guy's info, and he likes pumpkin chower or whatever. i've been feeding him ONLY that. keeps him happy!

Re: Moshi Monsters is online!

Anyone have any tips on making your monster happy (quickly).
My monster's mood is generally downbeat; slothful, agitated, wishful, aloof, melancholic or depressed. I put this down to feeding it sprouts. Sprouts are great for boosting health, but have a negative effect on happiness (does somebody at mind candy not like sprouts, how can anybody not like sprouts??? Maybe it has something to do with Global Warming lol).

So what I'm asking is how can I boost my monster's happiness, and fast?

EDIT:

I've just found out that tickling gains you 4 happiness points each time your monster laughs, and when your monster starts to get angry you start to lose the points you have gained...I've been teasing and poking my monster till it explodes, each time I visit the site. It boosts my personal happiness level  but with my teasing and its sprout diet, no wonder my monster has not been very happy.

EDIT 2: How long has the Bizarre Bazaar been open?

EDIT3: A sprout seems to be -11 happiness points. No wonder mine has gotten so depressed!!!

I too rely on tickles to get happiness points and can recoup any lost by sprouts this way. However, when I feed it roast beast, it always says yum-yum or words to that effect. Changing decor when requested by my monster even just back to the original seems to please it as does a trip out to the street, even though I have no rox. However, if you buy it gold, silver and bronze leaf goods, it will increase happiness.

My main problem is failure of the puzzle engine mid puzzles, so I have received no rox for three days, despite having just replaced my hard disk.

I got my health by repeatedly feeding the monster Green. It increases health, and is very inexpensive to buy. Unfortunately, lately, the stores seem to have run out of it. I adopted my monster on 20th November, the day it went live. (I started this thread.) Continually buying the monster stuff seems to keep it happy.

Probably! Admin only though, I'm afraid. I'll try and get in touch with someone from MC in the new year though, it's a good suggestion. Whether I'll get a response or not is another story

My monster is probably dead by now. Better go and have a look

This is similar to my problems which seem to occur during puzzles when it crashes and I get a message saying 'puzzle engine failure' and I have to log out without getting credit for the rox I have earned. I reckon I have lost about 300 rox this way.

By the way, if anyone thinks their monster is unhappy or unhealthy, just click on the monstar of the week or room of the week on the community page and see some almost dead monsters!

You have to remember, if you sign up with a code that comes with a mopod in the Beta period, you're given an exclusive item that isn't available from any of the in-game shops. I think the crystal ball is one of these.

Anyway, I received a "Little Shop Of Horrors" style plant, called Mrs Edna. It's easy to spot these exclusive items, as I think they're the only ones that animate at the moment.

http://www.moshimonsters.com/monsters/md1501

Has anyone managed to get to Level 8 or beyond? It seems to be taking ages for MiniDemon1500 to level up from Level 7.

Pumpkin Chowder is now my food of choice, as it increases both health and happiness. Unfortunately, it is quite rare, so is sometimes hard to come across.

I discovered that my former favourite food, Green, increased health but decreased happiness, so I'm no longer buying it now...

There's been an update.

There's a new edition of the Daily Growl, the Friends Tree now works, and there's different loading graphics. The shops apparently have new items, too, and solving the daily puzzle seems to give more Rox!

Re: Moshi Monsters is online!

A couple of days ago, when practising the MM Daily puzzles, I was idly wondering what would happen if you just kept pressing the same answer, so I gave it a whirl.

First I tried it in the practice session. The session seemed to go on for ages (not the thirty seconds or so normally) and the puzzle generator provided around 80 puzzles for me to have a go at. My correct answers totalled about 20 (I can't remember exactly)... As you would expect, it was roughly 1 in 4.

Glumbert's reaction was to burst into tears (I guess he couldn't believe that I could get 60 wrong!!)

Now, I was interested in what would happen if I tried it for real (and how many rox would I get). So I had a go. This time I was a little more serious about it, and didn't waste a second. I was storming through the puzzles, the generator produced over 120, and I was getting above average correct, until the puzzle generator siezed up. That was it. No score, a daily challenge wasted. Serves me right.

But I tried it again yesterday, a little slower as to not confuse the puzzle generator. This time it was successful. I can't remeber my score exactly but I think it was about 23 out of 80 or so. I wondered what Glumbert would do, and again he burst into tears. But what suprised me was that I was awarded 115 rox (my usual total is about 60 and that is when I get them almost all correct). I realised that there were two calculations going on here, the one that takes the number of wrong answers into account, and makes your monster cry or cheer. And the one that awards you 5 rox per correct answer but doesn't penalise you for the wrong answers.

Now, I thought that I'd test this out again today (before posting my news here (honest!!! )), and guess what? Those keen eyed Mind Candy types have found the loophole.

I fired up the puzzle generator and with my cursor pointing at the same answer, clicked away at my mouse button as each new puzzle appeared. By chance the first five were the correct answer any way. However, after that I didn't get a single question correct. By the time 30-35 puzzles had gone by, I thought I'd answer one properly. But it came back with WRONG, and every new answer (right or wrong) came back as WRONG. And no rox were awarded for the first five that I answered correctly at the start.

Strange thing though, it seems to still work on the practice session. Anyone dare to try it for real, to see whether the loophole has been filled for all?

Well Done MC

EDIT: Note: With the simpler puzzles and change in value of rox since the update, it is now quite easy to get a score of 115 rox/points.

Following on from what MD1500 said yesterday, the update has certainly changed things hasn't it. As I had wasted my puzzle challenge yesterday (trying to test the system), I hadn't realised how much easier the puzzles have become, and they do seem to be worth more rox. I earned 118 rox today (legitimately  ), that's the most I've ever earned (I'd never bothered with the slamboozle type of puzzle before on PXC/WLP), and Glumbert went on a spending spree for food to improve his health.

I have been having this problem in a big way as well. However, it has been less frequent since I changed back to IE7 instead of Firefox. I still get lots of hangs and error messages, which is still not solved.
OK, this will be fun. I just got to lvl 6 (yay) as i've missed about 300+ rox from the puzzles failing to load, finish, hell, i got all the way to the end, and it told me how many i had right and wrong, and then, nothing no rox, daily puzzle done.

n/eways, i get my lvl 6 (at either 1100 or 1150 rox, not 1000 like i thought) and i have no trophy :( so i go to the stores, and it realizes i have no trophy.
"error, failure to load item http://static.moshimonsters.com/flash/assets/world/items/trophy/level/trophy_6.swf"

yep, that's the url link for my trophy. change the number, change the trophy!!! it goes all the way up to lvl 21! wow, i love me some of those! i like the lightning bolt!

Rotek isn't doing so good. So I decided to do te daily puzzle and get some rox. Answered the first few questions fine. Then I got a 'maze' style one. (Which exit can this monster reach, etc.) Answered it. It's been 'checking' ever since. It's definately the right answer, but I had this problem with the same puzzle before.

You can send friend requests directly from other players' friends tree. My guess is that other players went to DarkHuman's page via the Daily Growl, and then clicked on you from there to send you a request.

We've been keeping a close eye on this thread and would like to say thanks for all the feedback you've been giving us. We know that some of you have been having a few problems with your daily challenge and just to let you know, it's got our top priority. We're hoping to have it fixed very soon.

You may or may not have noticed we've just launched the new Daily Growl and are blogging it up, so feel free to join in and comment away.

Keep up the monster caring, and feel free to send us any more feedback you have!

As you may know, you no longer have to wait 24 hours for the Daily Puzzles to become active.

Yesterday, I solved both my Monsters' Daily Puzzles at 4-ish in the afternoon. I logged on at 6:30 AM today, and the Puzzles weren't active. An hour later, at 7:30 AM, they were!

Therefore, I can only assume the Daily Puzzles refresh at around 7 AM. The items in the shops seem to change at that time too.

On another note, I'm happy to see that Mind Candy still read our comments here. :)

You may recall that I had found a 'cheat' in the daily puzzle. I had scored 115 points in one go, and this was in my monster's record.

Then MC updated the site, they found a fix for the cheat, and for a day or two the puzzles became ridiculously easy. I scored a massive 118 points (a strange number to be awarded, I know) through legitimate means.

Well, today I find that Glumbert's highest puzzle score has been reset (now at 60 after todays effort, which is more like it). So many thanks for that MC. Its a shame I couldn't keep the 118, but the puzzles were far too easy for it to stand, I guess.

I had plenty of this problem and MC were inclined to blame it on the fact that I had more than one monster, although it often occured with the first of the day. Things have improved since I a. I've got a different 'problem', although it's one i quite like!! For the past few days i've been buying food each day and feeding it to 9Circles (my monster), and the next day it's still there available to feed to him again. Today the food i bought (and fed him) from the past 2 days was there again. It's saving me rox and it's keeping 9 happy but surely it's some kind of glitch in the system?

I wish! No, Shucks had another puzzle engine failure today and a 'right' marked 'wrong' so i'm not too happy.

Also, I submitted a competition entry late last night, but it hasn't yet been posted up - presumably not moderated yet, almost 12 hours later. Or perhaps because my suggestion involved wasting that precious commodity, water, so it's not considered PC.

yes, if you don't log out, sometimes it will not remember what you did. i'll buy food, feed it to my monster, come here to welovepuzzles.com and the next day, my monster still has his food (but is very hungrey!)

Saturday, i went to play my daily puzzle, and NOTHING, it was like i'd allready visited the site. and Sunday, my browser crashed, so no rox for DZ!

Another update...

Now, anyone can freely adopt a monster. You don't need a mopod code anymore. (And they expect this to generate more money than PXC??)

Anyone who adopted a monster in the BETA period gets a certificate to display.

They've added a couple of new features too. You can now rate other monster's rooms, and there's a new monster celebrity rating thing. (Apparently, my monster is Y-list.)

Finally, they've also moved the location of the pinboard to above the puzzle button, which alters where the door is placed. This means I've got to adjust the items in my room, as it kind of ruins the layout...

Nowhere near. 15 is my maximum and 10 is my average. However persistence has just taken Shucks to level 13 and 2 of the others are pretty close, I only know of one better, so I am quite happy at present , but may drop back with a week abroad coming up.

I am heartily sick of that message board, with my 4 monsters having over 500 'friends' between them (only 20 or so at my own request) and some kids are adoring while others are outright rude. I don't intend to clear my message board when it is next full! - so if you want to say anything, say it here.

With my newer monster I got 19 right 0 wrong... that's my record so far.

It's the count squares that gets me, I'm sure they've got the wrong answer on some of them. I've counted up to the maximum answer, but it said the answer was wrong. So I reckon that it only counts squares that are caused by an overlap, not ones caused by gaps between the other squares.

I don't have a problem with the backwards clock. My girlfriends parents have a backwards clock on their wall at home, you just get used to reading it the other way.

My best ever total was 20 correct and 1 wrong on a day when the puzzles were absurdly simple for some reason.

My normal score lies somewhere between 10 and 15 correct, depending on how many I have wasted by getting them wrong. I don't usually get the opportunity to answer more than 15 in a session.

I find the 'eyes' puzzle wastes most time, followed by the 'lines'.

I wish they hadn't made the changes because I feel I will slip down the rankings if I don't earn those extra rox, and I have 4 monsters, each taking about an hour to earm max rox on en-gen. That is 4 hours I can't afford to spend on it, and I am so, so bored with en-gen and can't do flutterby because it hangs.

Re: Moshi Monsters is online!

Yes, the new stuff is pretty sweet. I need to get faster at the puzzles to earn more Rox. Speaking of, before I asked what people's records were on puzzles. I realize now that on your profile there is a max puzzle score. That probably would have been a better measure. I'm up to 141, but I actually saw someone who had 169. Anyone know how this is calculated? I'm guessing it might be the max Rox you earned in one puzzle session?

I was also wondering if the puzzles continue to get worse. I'm up to level 9 now, but haven't seen the difficulty increase in a while. Can anyone tell me if and when it gets ratched up?

Ok, should actually do work now.

Oh yeah, one last thing. Someone mentioned that there is a max Rox per day you can earn on En-gen and Flutterby. Just curious what it is.

Thanks in advance!
